Dildos and other sex toys can spread HIV if they go from one man's anus to another without some type of protection. Follow these suggestions to reduce the risk of HIV transmission.
Tip
Cover each dildo or sex toy with a fresh condom for each new sex act or when that object is going into each new man's anus.

Dildos and other sex toys can spread HIV if they go from one man's anus to another without some type of protection. Follow these suggestions to reduce the risk of HIV transmission.
- Using sex toys can be a safe practice, as long as you do not share your toys with your partner.
- If you share your toy with your partner, use a condom on the toy, and change the condom before your partner uses it.
- Clean your toys with soap and water, or a stronger disinfectant if indicated on the cleaning instructions. It is important to do this after each use!
